Re: To be a Trader YOU Need.. ?

"Poker and trading have nothing to do with each other."

I really don't know how to respond to a comment like your's. First, so there is not confusion, the "games" poker and trading are different. The skills required to be a good poker player or a good trader are very much alike. To explain would not help because the mind set of someone making the comment you did has already made up their mind.

If I was considering hiring a trader I would like to sit down and play poker with the person I am interviewing. I would pay close attention as to how he made his decisions because I would expect his trading to be similar. Office interviews, or dinner interviews are not as revealing as a game of poker. I other words I want to know how he puts "my" money at risk. His actions are more revealing than words.

My comments about playing poker is a way for a person to evaluate their abilities as a trader. Everything I dsicuss is from my personal experience. I have been successful at both, and I can see the similarity.

So again of anyone wants to embark on trading commodities they should first test their abilities to be a trader by playing poker. Both poker and commodity trading have a reputation of people losing large sums of money, and it more due to not knowing how to manage money, emotions, fear, greed.. and a long list of mistakes. Mistakes that can not be cured by a good trading method because a weak trader will overide the method just like they do when playing poker.

I respect you having an opinion, but I just don't agree with your opinion.
