GE, the largest US-based reactor builder.

And may be the only one now ???

But I suspect a small part of GE's business overall.

This whole thing sucks and may be a big setback for the industry. On the other side, if they keep things under control in the face of such a severe earthquake, maybe it could become a "confidence builder". I don't believe all of the "sensationalism" carried in the news.

Those plants are 40 years old. Stainless steel and concrete wears well, but the state of the electronics/electrical control systems would be interesting to understand. The little 8080 computer chip was barely born when that plant was designed and same for many in the US.
