Natural-gas futures rally after supply data (by Claudia Assis)
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural-gas futures rallied Thursday after a weekly inventories report showed a larger-than-expected decline in supplies. Natural gas for April delivery (ngj11) rose 13 cents, or 3.5%, to $4.08 per million British thermal units. Prices had gained 4 cents before the data. The Energy Information Administration reported a decline of 56 billion cubic feet for the week ended March 11. Analysts polled by Platts had expected a decline between 41 to 45 bcf.
