Seems the one dollar coins here in the US don't catch on very well. We had the Susan B. Anthony dollar coin for awhile, but I don't see them anymore. We have a one dollar coin now barely larger than a quarter, about the color of brass, with a Native American Woman on it. Don't know her name (I would have to google it). The only place I ever seemed to get this one was as change from a stamp machine at the post office, and once in a great while at the store. I guess people would rather carry four $1 paper notes instead of having four $1 coins in their pocket.
