Grains and Meats / Market Pick

Today's Market View Corn Futures Expected to Open 8 to 11 Lower as of 7:15 a.m.

Corn: Corn futures opened lower and remained there Friday on renewed selling by both sides of the market as planting progress picks up in the Eastern Corn Belt.

Soybeans: Commercial buying continues to support the bean market with the nearby July contract establishing a short-term uptrend last week.

Wheat: Winter wheat contracts found spillover over support from the collapsing U.S. dollar index and the surge in old-crop Minneapolis wheat.

Live Cattle: Strong cash prices and packer margins sparked a sharp triple-digit rally Friday and could lead to follow-through buying this week.

Cotton: A bearish export sales and shipment report pressured cotton Friday, though the bullish supply and demand situation remains in place as indicated by strongly inverted futures spreads.
