WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- U.S. home prices rose for the first time in eight months with a 0.7% increase, according to the S&P/Case-Shiller home price gauge released Tuesday. The year-on-year decline was 4%, and roughly in line with consensus expectations. From their peak, prices are down 33%.
