Very nice. You must have used some color in the stain or varnish. The pine at least what I have seen here is very white and while a oil based varnish will give it that golden look the soft grain will never go that dark unless stained 1st. In fact most of the time the only way to get pine to stain evenly is to put a clear sealer on it 1st and then stain it after and varnish. The sealer only seals it partially but stops the erratic patchy coloring pine tends to have and then it will stain 'evenly' like your example. Pine is a very soft wood but nice to work with and has many uses. I don't know if the pine down there is different than up here. We have entire forests of standing dead pine trees in the interior of B.C. killed by the Pine Tree Beatle.
