NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The Canadian dollar turned higher against its U.S. counterpart Friday after data showed employment in Canada rose by 61,000 in September. All the hirings were full-time and the unemployment rate fell to 7.1%, the lowest since December 2008, according to Statistics Canada. RBC Capital said analysts expected the Canadian economy to add about 15,000 jobs. Against the Canadian dollar, the U.S. unit (cur_usdcad) fell to buy 1.0341 Canadian dollars, from about 1.04 Canadian dollars before the report.
