Greek party talks on bailout delayed to Tuesday (by MarketWatch)
FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Austerity talks between Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos and leaders of the three parties that back his interim government have been delayed until Tuesday to allow the premier to meet with international creditors, the Associated Press reported Monday, citing a spokeswoman for the prime minister's office. European leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, have pressed Greece to move quickly to commit to new measures that are a prerequisite for receiving a second bailout package. Without the aid, Greece is seen as almost sure to default when a large debt repayment comes due in mid-March.
