Greek minister expects bailout resolution: report ( EURUSD ) (by MarketWatch)
FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos on Wednesday said all issues surrounding a second bailout for the nation will be resolved ahead of a conference call by euro-zone finance ministers later in the day, the Associated Press reported. Venizelos said "very few" issues remain ahead of a call set to take place at 6 p.m. Athens time, or 11 a.m. Eastern, the report said. Euro-zone finance ministers scheduled the conference call after they canceled a planned Brussels meeting to discuss the bailout amid worries over the country's ability to implement austerity measures required as a prerequisite for the second 130 billion euro ($171 billion) bailout.
