Natural gas futures trade lower after supply data (by Claudia Assis)
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural-gas futures turned lower Thursday after a weekly U.S. government supply report showed a withdrawal of 166 billion cubic feet from the nation's supplies of the product in the week ended Feb. 17. Analysts polled by Platts had expected the EIA to show a decline between 160 and 164 bcf in the week. Natural gas for March delivery (ngh12) lost 6 cents, or 2.2%, to $2.59 per million British thermal units; it had traded at $2.67 before the data.
