SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural-gas futures added to gains Thursday after a weekly government inventories report showed a larger-than-expected decline. Natural gas for April delivery (ngj12) added 3 cents, or 1.4%, to trade at $2.31 per million British thermal units. The Energy Information Administration reported a decline of 64 billion cubic feet in supplies in the week ended March 9. Analysts surveyed by Platts expected the report to show a decline between 56 bcf and 60 bcf for the week ended March 9.
