ECB's Draghi: 'Premature' to begin 'exit strategy' (by MarketWatch)

FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- It's too early to consider an exit from the European Central Bank's accommodative monetary policy measures amid an unsettled economic backdrop, ECB President Mario Draghi told a European Parliament committee on Wednesday, Dow Jones Newswires reported. "The uncertainty about the present situation is very, very high," he said. Any exit strategy "is premature given the current economic situation," he said. Draghi said ECB policy makers would use all instruments at their disposal to counter any upside risks to inflation. "Overall, our impression is that the ECB is now somewhat more concerned about the economic outlook," said Julian Callow, economist at Barclays Capital, in a note. "That said, there were no hints of any impending policy interventions or adjustments," Callow said.
