Re: Gas price drop drags April PPI down 0.2%

I know of some gas stations that closed down as they didn't make any money selling gas. And one service station I had gone to got rid of their pumps for that reason plus everyone being pissed off at them all the time. Now they just 'service' cars and trucks and everyone is happy with them again. But I also know gas stations jack prices up before a weekend and if prices are up on the futures market you wont get to a gas station fast enough before they've jacked up the price. But when the futures prices fall for days and weeks at a time they are very, very slow to drop those prices back down again. This has been documented many times by professionals who track these trends. Perhaps the gas stations have to gouge where they can to make a buck overall but both distributors and the gas stations are doing the screwing not just one of them. And that is a fact.
