Back in the eighties, I knew this feller ... I believe Leo was pushing seventy. He would get tens upon tens of pounds, when they had special excess to distribute. Blocks of American and wheels of cheddar. That cheese, whether American or cheddar was top shelf stuff. To get that quality of cheddar, you'd have to go to a cheese store ... WAY better than what was sold at the regular grocery.
