In the late eighties, before my expat days .. when there was still an ample upland game population (pheasant, quail, etc.), in Iowa ... I had standing permission to hunt on a number of farms. Three of the farmers had these conditions: 1) Cross fences the correct way, doing no damage ....2) Pick up any spent shells and ........ 3) shoot ANY cat that we came across. They do more damage to bird populations than anything created.
However, since I was always carrying fowling pieces, hunting behind dogs ... a twenty or twenty-eight bore doesn't offer the opportunity to witness the stuck head ... they just dropped dead ... same as a little bunny rabbit.
