When you're on the floor, it's nothing more than buy when the hands go up and when the hands go down .. SELL. Run 'n gun. Outside trading .... I never did try day trading, much less the uber short term stuff. Everyone talks about how the markets have changed, so dramatically. From a position trader's standpoint ... The markets look, feel, and trade the same as they did forty years ago. For most people, being in a trade for weeks to months ... TOO boring. However, at least from my experience ... FAR more profitable. I used to have conversations, years after the floor ... where people asked "Do you trade for a living?" My answer was .... "I trade to make money". HUGE difference.
