I think I've found my new favorite wood to turn. Looks great...turns like a dream and doesn't warp when it dries. The vase on the left is 9.75 tall and 4.75 in diameter at the shoulders...because the wood was so stable I was able to turn the walls to a thickness of between 1/8th and 3/16th of an inch.
It weighs in at 13.875 ounces...that's pretty light for a wood as dense as mesquite.
The crazy thing...those damned Texans will just about pay you to take it away. LOL!
