Did you read any of the comments? Someone referenced dropping a stainless steel knife, in very cold weather, and it breaking. Then, of course that brought out the "experts" ... who laid claim that stainless steel was strong and couldn't break/shatter. Of course, that was followed by it "probably being cheap stainless with too much carbon".

Stainless steel knives are excellent, however, anything with a blade length over thirteen inches should be avoided, due to the added chromium making the blade brittle. High carbon steel (1060 - 1095 or, T-10 spring steel is pricey stuff).

Sometimes the comments, made by the "experts", are funnier than the article.
