Surely most of us are at fault for going back to the gas guzzlers. In the early 1970's we had them plus long lines and sometimes after waiting in line for hours we finally got to the pump and they were out of gas.
We learned for a while by getting rid of the big and long cars, we were forced to drive at 55 or less, etc.
We are a spoiled society with a short memory.
