Bill...I noticed Gold tended to come off it's lows later in the day and the Dollar had a little gap in the chart that I suspect will be filled in the am...this makes me think lower dollar and higher gold tomorrow...but that generally means diddly. :)

I heard that a fed guy came out today espousing increases in rates to fight inflation...I think there will be a fight over this because some argue that increasing rates would be the wrong thing to do. personally, I have always argued that rate cuts will not solve the problem and now it has sparked inflation.

I didn't hear about the consumer debt but that, in my opinion, is never a good thing...how they decide to deal with it is beyound me.

Over the longer term, I don't see how they can keep from raising, thus boosting the value of the dollar...like you say...time will tell.
