Coral,

I read part of what the post is about, and feel asleep, not hard to do at my age. Mostly some stats that you have to question the reliability of the stats.

I feel, and always have, it is better to just exam you own situation and that will tell you a lot about the condition of our economy. The ol' saying when my neighbor is out of work we in a recession, when I am out of work we are in a depression.

The quicker we all realize that we have no (zero) impact on the change of our economy, or our Governament the better off we are.. and focus on our family and hope others do the same.

It is a no-brainer to know we are in deep, deep trouble as a economy, and a Country in trouble with their economy should not think that their currency is going to become strong until the problems are resolved. The problems facing our Country as a whole did not happen over a short period of time, and the problems will not be corrected over a short period of time.

Many new articles talk about the effects of higher energy prices on our economy, and it is not higher energy cost that is the problem.. higher energy prices is only a reflection of the trouble we are in.... We were faced with the same problems when oil was at $10.00, but it was not as noticable.

Anyway Coral as always I enjoy your posts, and each time I see your posts I think of the days we were floating around on a couple of aircraft carriers drinking ice tea, and getting a suntan. How time changes.

This Monday the 12th I will be playing in a Golf tournament to raise money for the "Wounded Warrior Project". You can read about in on www.w3usa.com a link at the top of the page titled "wounded warrior project pro/am".

Now you may think my response is to talk about helping our Veterans and their families.. you are right but there is more to it.

I only heard about the tournament this week and already I raised several thousand dollars from the private sector more than willing to lend a helping hand. The major contributor I found on short notice is Wal_Mart.. and they have told me I can except a larger contribution next year with more time to prepare.

Coral I am telling you this because I know how much it has pumped me up to see first hand the generousity of the private sector and how willing the private sector is to step up to help our wounded Veterans in areas our Governament falls short,. It is a team effort, and I love it, and as one Veteran to another I like to share the story.

Memories of floating on the USS Hancock CVA, drinking tea, and putting on suntan lotion rather than sun block. Now back to my vacation.
