Hi,
Quickly stated - it is not bad for the food. It does just what I said, heats by friction.

A pregnant woman, or any one, hanging out in front of a micro wave is taking a risk that they do not have to take.
- This has nothing to do with the suitability for heating food, it has to do with potential effects on the cells of your body.

- Not to start a micro-wave concern - but if you drop one, crack the door gasket, or what ever - how do you know - It is like Stewall said - exposure time is a big factor - why put your easy chair in front of it!!!

When "radar" first evolved "call it WWII" there was a "learning curve" with sailors getting in front of the antenna. Some/Many wound up sterile.
